Sandipani Home
It is ever daunting worry in the mind of the parents of differently abled children that how the children will be taken care of when they themselves are no more. To address this problem, Sandipani is planned to provide lifelong shelter to specially abled children. It is one of the most ambitious project by ISMC. It is established with the noble purpose of providing shelter to the mentally disabled on the concept of home away from home. Sandipani will act as a day care, vocational training center and hostel of the mentally disabled children and providing work / employment opportunities.
The project is planned to provide shelter to 250 children at a time and will have all the facilities like physio therapy, rehabilitation room and vocation training rooms toilets with special arrangements, mess, dining hall.
Training by specially trained teachers shall be provided to students that will increase their chances of employment and a better life ahead.
The total project is estimated to cost 10.76 crore. In the first phase a vocational training center, academic center and residential center for 30 children is taking shape. This phase is expected to cost 2.5 crore. A 15000 sqft two storied building is under final stage of construction on 15000 Sq. ft of land. A governing committee is working in a planned and phased manner on first phase of the project at present.
The second and third phases will be taken up on successful completion of the first phases.
Vision
Creating awareness and sensitize society to create atmosphere and develop facilities for overall development of intellectually disabled person and to improve their quality of life, exploring and developing their uncommon abilities by continuous training and re-training, to make them functional contributory and acceptable companion in the society.
Mission
To provide all required infrastructural facilities for prevention, early intervention, special education, training, rehabilitation of intellectually disabled person, so that they can contribute best of their abilities and become an acceptable part of the society. To support parents emotionally and psychologically, to boost, their morale.
The Primary Objective Behind Sandipani
- Creation, management and maintenance of training, rehabilitation and housing project.
- Meaningful monthly deliberations with guardians of specially abled children.
- Conduct training programs for parents of these children under aegis of Regional Rehabilitation Center of Disabled, Bhopal.
- Coordinating with various government departments for assisting parents of specially able children in getting legal guardianship certificate, identity cards and railway concessions.
- Organizing multi-dimensional creative and cultural camps for special children, conducting music therapy sessions for treatment of behavioral problems.
- To organize medical and physiotherapy camps.
Project Sandipani
To set up a group home for intellectually disabled person, with facilities for special education, training, skills development, sports, recreational, and therapeutic facilities, like hydrostatics, music, dance, meditation, yoga for overall development to make them competent to exercise their capacity as best as they can.
It also provide them a home away from home that would ensure the love and care and dignity with quality of life.
The expected cost of Sandipani project is about Rs. 10.76 Cr. And shall be completed in three phases.
